In the current economic situation and other reasons, we decided to suspended the brand activity for now.

We tried to make changes to adapt to the mood (and pocket) present, but it made us compromise the spirit that was on the hurt of the brand and what we believe in.

Therefore, the brand will be suspended entirely from the end of this month.

This is not goodbye, bouji and nona would come back, or on another format in the future.

But for now ,

Thanks for your support and belief in our brand!

And remember, being parents does not mean you have to compromise on your design taste, or the uniqueness of your baby!

On this fantastic book ,Photographed over two years with the support of Save the Children (Italy),James Mollison compare children of the world and the places where they sleep.

Decorate your Baby's room part 1: THE MUST HAVE

bouji & nouna often been asked for tips on how to decorate a baby room in a way that won't be too commercial, babyish or old...

Well, on the next few weeks they will search around the web for great items that will work perfectly on a baby room but also would do the job when your baby will come of age.

This time they've choose items that are a must on a baby's room on their opinion:

#1 - a rocking chair

A great addition to the baby's room. Great for nursing at the start and can be used from playing and reading later. The problem is that most rocking chairs are very aged, made of wood and have a very Old look.

However, don't worry, bouji & nouna found an alternative! They found great article on design sponge online, with some great alternative for any taste and budget.

bouji & nouna's favorite is the RAR rocking chair - a modern classic, designed by the legendary Eams brothers in the 1950's. A beautiful chair and bouji and nouna just adore it the clean and playful looks.

They've actually found a reproduction of him on E-bay for around 250UDS..

#2 - Wall art,

whether you preferred white walls or colorful. with wallpaper or without. Some wall art will dependently pup out your design.

You'll find it really easy to find wall hanging for your baby's room, all you need is some imagination...

Here some suggestion:

1. Chalkboard Vinyl Wall Decals by wallstickz - a fun way to let your child be creative.

2. Antique 1902 World Map - Canada and Newfoundland by OldTimersClub - Can be framed or just glue to the wall as an original wallpaper. Another great idea - vinyl a map of your state and mark on it your town, grand moms town, etc.

4. Key rack or accessories holder, love wood word rack by prettylovelypainting.

Hi guys,

bouji & nouna have just returned from the ABC Expo that took place in Las-Vegas USA.

We had a great time and had a lot of flight hours to think about and we chose to share it with you... (almost 16 hours to each way.. not so much fun...)

Have you ever thought of your baby's sleeping habits?

Have you noticed were or when he sleeps on his best sleep?

Well, you don't have to answer that...

Babies are falling asleep mostly and much easier while exploring their environment!

Yes, We know Those aren't big news.. but just think about it, while going to the mall, on stroller time, while sitting on the car seat... On all of Those locations, regardless of the noises around and all the people. Those are the times babies have their fastest sleep!

So why does it happen? Ever stopped thinking about it? Why at home, on the quietest and calm environment your baby won't go to sleep as easily as outdoor?

Well bouji & nouna have a suggestion, but for that you'll have to stop thinking as an adult and try to think like a baby... Can you do that?

When we try to make our baby to go to sleep on a quiet home with calm colors around and silent music, we are actually trying to make him sleep like we as adults like to go to sleep.

Babies, unlike adults are learning all the time and don't really need this break to fall asleep. The other thing is correct, babies are trying to learn there surrounding at all time. They're trying to focus on objects. They're listening. They're smelling. They're feeling, all the time.

Outdoor, they have a lot to explore and that make them tired really fast, think about you trying to learn several new languages at the same time, wouldn't it makes you tired and you fall asleep pretty fast?

However, unlike what we adult might think. They need those things around them at all time like an adult who need a book before he goes to sleep... this is their bed time story!

bouji and nouna keep this fact in mind while designing their crib bedding collections, babies can't read, and don't really care for design or pastel colors (don't worry your princess will like baby pink at some point). In fact, at their first year they can't really see the difference between pastel colors - they all seem gray to them.

But they do care for bold and vibrant colors, shapes and textures that they can learn and explore.

So when you go out to shop for your baby's bedding and nursery decor, look at the designs for a baby point of you, not an adult. Forget about "made for babies designed for you" products. Look for bold colors and shapes. Think about it as if you're buying your baby a book, wouldn't you look for the one with the most beautiful colors and fab drawings on it? It would stimulate your baby to explore his environment and would make sleep time a lot easier!

One of the lines that really caught our eye is that "In the early months a baby’s brain works hard to learn and distinguish colors. Researchers have recently discovered that by as early as four months of age babies have not only learned to distinguish these colors, but develop a particular preference for a certain colors as well. Which Color or spectrum of colors is preferred will likely be unique to the baby and many babies show delight in a wide range of colors. However, even if parents notice a baby’s particular fondness for a Color researchers still suspect that it is best to expose the baby to a wide variety of colors and patterns to further their development."

Today is the Israeli Holocaust Memorial day.
And all of us stop for a minute from our every day activity in order to remember all of those. How were murdered by man evil.
As a third generation to the holocaust survivors I feel that it's our responsibility to never forget the horror and do anything to be as humanity as possible to human suffer were ever he is.
We shouldn't forget how cruel people can be, How easy it is to hate and lose our morality...

So, after so many sleepless nights and Working around the clock... It's finally here!
bouji & nouna new 2010 collections!
We chose to call it "THE MODERN LIFE" since we were inspired on this one from the modern and clean design that was typical in the mid 20th century.
We are so excited about it! Since it's the first time that we created a commercial collection... Every item is still, as always, made by hand - We believe that babies are special... - Therefore, items are near One Of a kind and quantities are limited.
The collection is full of colors, as all of our products before, and super cool retro fabrics and prints. You'll find some owls having a party, Kids flying some cute kites. You may also like to visit Paris or take a tour on a super stylish modern home...
We also have some stylish dog shadow pillows in a variety of colors and prints.

OK, So we reached our 30's without having any issue with us being left handed.. we learned to do anything in both hands, including writing... but it caught us... without any warning... We Can't use our Cutting roll with our left hand! It just isn't cutting! So frustrating... Anyone knows where to get a left handed cutting roll? Is it even existing? Brr.....

So this is where it's all happening, a good size room in our home that was declared as our studio!

We admit, we're not a very tidy people, so most of the things we've got are kept away from sight...
On this room you can find everything you'll ever dreamt off... naturally all of the items we finished are also here but except for them you can also find ribbons, buttons, vintage and new fabrics, some fine art and folk ornaments, and books, lots of book that inspire us all the time....
This room is our favorite one in our house and for several reasons. The most important one is that we filled it with all of the items that we love and inspire us to create:

On our studio / room you just can't miss some original paintings drawn by bouji & nouna creator - Inbar Lahav Elgarisi.
The one on the right is kind of a self portrait of her with bouji when he was a baby...
The one on the left was drawn while she was pregnant with nouna...
we keep saying that she's inspired by her children, so here a great example of how they inspire her...
We LOVE those drawing and wish she was doing some more of them...
for some resone she just can't find the time... :)

We always have some great ideas, all the time, while doing other things... that's why we have so many notebooks on our desk... and those are just the ones we don't use right now. We're having notebooks all over our home and on our bag too so if we'll have a good idea he won't go away....
As we said before, we're not a very organized people... so we don't have an organized inspiration wall (if someone has a tip on that one we would love to hear it...). This is our idea for inspiration board. Full of THANK YOU notes we received worldwide, fabric swatches; some notes we wrote to ourselves ECT. We don't know if this is what the one who invented the inspiration had in mind but it work for us, so... it's fine with us.

Inbar's mom, our grandma, inspired her to start the whole bouji & nouna adventure... so it's only natural that some of the items here will be hers.
She an artist at heart and since she retired, she's doing so fan mosaic art... here an example that being used in our room...
we just love the colors on this item, made out of green and blue glass...
And also we can't forget the arts and crafts book collection she gave us that fill us with inspiration just by looking at them! It's not the whole of them, sadly because of a lake in space some of them are still in boxes, but we love them just as much...

Eli, The sweet shy elephant, was, without a doubt bouji & nouna best seller on this Christmas shopping season…
We sold all the 4 dolls they had, and run out of the vintage cotton fabric…
bouji was a bit upset because Eli was his favorite elephant doll so he did his best to try to find some more from the vintage cotton material he was made of...
we searched the internet but couldn't find the exact same fabric… but then our fabric collection treasure came to our rescue! We found one yard of fabric similar in colors of turquoise and cream….
We knew than that Eli is about to make a comeback!
Today it finely happened, Eli was done in his new fabric and bouji was the happiest kid on earth!

On the first hours they just enjoyed each other company, hugging and kissing…

Than Eli did bouji some back and head massage.

After nouna woke up from her nap bouji and Eli played together some great original music written by bouji…

Just before bad-time, while hugging Eli in bad, bouji whispering to Eli ears –" I missed you so much Eli! You're my best friend! "

New design to our nouma dolls!

bouji & nouna have been very busy lately...
except for making a lot of christmas orders, they have thought about creating new products and some new designs...
nouna said that she's no longer a baby, she had her second birthday, that mean that she's no longer interested in baby stuff however she's most interested in clothes and music, just like any girl her age...
bouji said he don't really care, as long as we make some new elephants and owls, also, he would like to see more boys products and prints on the b&n products 'cause it's unfair that most of their latest relies were for girls, and girls are yak... except for his girlfriend of course...
nouna was really upset and ask that they start with the nouma dolls, 'cause she can really use some new sleeping companion, and nouna know to be really convincing when she want to...and after three days of non stop talking about how she would love to have a new doll bouji surrendered and they started to sketch the new nouma doll....
So now you can see the new nouma doll design, she's larger than her previous, wearing a cool dress and funky legers...

nouma was so happy when she saw them! She was watching her favorite TV show when the first one was done and she ran from across the room screaming "Buba! Buba shely! "Which means in Hebrew "doll my doll?"and just couldn't let her go... she have danced with her 'till she dropped, they had a tea party together, and even went with her to sleep...
this are Marry-Ann and Zoe, two out of 6 different designs for the new nouma doll.

Mary-Ann is a true positive vibrated girl, full of love and care. She loves to dance and listen to music. Her faces are hand embroidered and she's got blonde felt hair and felt pig tails with red satin ribbon ties...

Zoe is a true redhead, full of energy, very smart and a bit nutty from time to time but look what a big heart she's got!

Even bouji was happy about those dolls, because for one day nouna was busy doing something other than annoying him...

Happy Hanuka! or What is more important? A good photo or a good product?

Well, it's been a while since we wrote lately... And the reason for that was that we were experienced some health issues...
Nothing serious, but enough to drive our mom crazy...
bouji was caught a cold, nouna was infected from him and their dad had a back pain... and all of that during the Hanukah vacation!
So we had a sick Holiday... The good news is that most of them past it already....
During this time we were wondering to ourselves... What is more important? A good photo or a good product? Does an internet shopper only relay on a good photo or sometimes a good product can catch their eye even if the photo is not so good?
For example, our Eli the elephant.
We think her photo is not so good... She's too blue and UN focused. And even though she's on Etsy gift guide and already been ordered...
Same with Silvestre and our urban jungle blanket...
So tell us... What do you think? What is more important?

OK, so our weekend is over, and we had a small B party to nouna...
we made her favorite chocolate cake and she got a super cool organ... now she can play her own music sing and dance - Exactly what she LOVE doing all the time...
It was so much fun!

We're working like crazy on our new collection - preparing our lino templates for the super cool and contemporary prints that will be the main motive on our new collection...

New design - Our elephant family

On the past we had Meni the elephant, he was sweet and he left us to some great new families We're sure that take a good care of him...( It wont heart you to call sometimes Meni... We love you!)
Now we've decided that we haven't created an elephant in quite a while, and elephants are nounas favorite animal so we start a new design of them...

A sweet and cuddly version of an elephant, similar to syndy we made in the past, made from cotton, cotton chenille, fleece - Everything that will be sweet, comfy and as colorful as possible...

Right now we're offering for sale Justin the hip elephant and Gaya The Red curious elephant.
More designs will be available on the next few days!
bouji and nouna tried to introduce Gaya to Justin,

Good morning all! We're having a new Etsy shop and a new upcoming collection

It's been a while since I wrote, and the reason is that yours truly is working like mad on promoting our Xmas sales...So far nothing and it's very frustrating!!! Anyway, I think now is a good time to announce that bouji & nouna are creating a whole new collection that would take our skills to the next level as well as being a more commercial one. Not to worry! It would still be handmade, Would still have the bouji & nouna touch but we let go of all the vintage fabrics (for now) and moving to a new technique of hand printing. This will make the collection even more unique and with freindly prices.
The new collection would have about 7-8 designs all hand printed by me according to my original paintings... The paintings will also be offered for sale as originals or prints. On that matter you can see that we expand our product range... The new collection will include: bumpers, blankets, crib sheets, crib skirt (all of those you'll be able to buy as a set or separated), pillows, toys, wall hanging and of course Apparel.
Since our new collection will be so different from the previous ones it will be upload on our new Etsy shop we have opened for this purpose at: www.boujiandnouna.com

After a few rainy cold days, finally the sun is out and a very hot weekend is ahead of us here in Israel...
Just in time for our new Cuddle Naptime Blanket s, and The first release from it - Here comes the sun blanket.
Here comes the sun blanket is made with retro bold flowers fabric and extra soft sunny yellow fleece. You just have to feel this unbelievably soft fabric!
You see, I just found an amazing fabric shop with wonderful retro and vintage fabrics on a town near my village... We got this fabric from it, and still dreaming about the other patterns he's got there...
So... anyway about this one...
Flowers have never looked so chic and cuddly!
Can be used for almost anything a baby might like to do: naptime, tummy time, playtime, strollertime, off to Grandma's, a number of purposes. This will last for years to come.
It's got polifil batting for extra comfort and with Generously size of 37.5" x 45" it will be Perfect for your newborn or toddler!
